NOCO Humane is an independent nonprofit animal shelter working to further the compassionate, safe, and responsible relationship between animals and people and a trusted, responsive community leader, providing programs and services essential to the high quality of life for animals and people in northern Colorado.

Regular Full-Time (40 hrs), Non-Exempt, Hourly

Reporting to our Animal Behavior Supervisor, our Animal Behavior Coordinators serve as Shelter resources for basic animal behavior and enrichment. Responsibilities include evaluating animals for outcomes including adoption, foster care, transfer, medical attention and more. Members of our Behavior team also develop and implement programs and practices to meet the enrichment needs of companion animals including dogs, cats, small mammals, reptiles and more. There is a significant amount of animal interaction required in the job, as well as staff interaction, training and working with volunteers. Additional duties include communicating with clients through various channels and assisting with training and the creation of basic help guides. Requirements include a minimum of an Associate degree in biology, the animal sciences, animal husbandry, veterinary-technician studies, an associated field of study OR equivalent and applicable work experience in addition to a high school diploma. A minimum of over one year work experience in animal welfare OR six (6) months current experience with the Organization in an animal handling position is required. Customer service experience as well as emotional intelligence, work ethics and work integrity required. Please see the full job description for additional information. The regular work schedule is 40 hours per week and includes one weekend day and is subject to change according to business need. Overtime and attendance at events, trainings and more is required. Proven bilingual skills in English and Spanish (speaking, understanding, reading and writing) is a plus and includes a pay premium.

Hiring range begins at $18.00 per hour and is commensurate with applicable experience and education. Closes November 30th, 2024, or when filled.
