President
Alliance for Contraception in Cats and Dogs
Job Description
Who we areThe Alliance for Contraception in Cats & Dogs (ACC&D) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to advance non-surgical sterilants and contraceptives for cats and dogs and to promote their global accessibility. We envision a world in which dog and cat populations are effectively and humanely managed, improving the lives of dogs and cats and the people who care about them. ACC&D serves as a catalyst for focus on this area of critical innovation to increase access to veterinary care. In that role, we inspired the Michelson Found Animals Foundation to establish the Michelson Prize and Grants; their program has led research toward a permanent injectable sterilant. Promising sterilant technology is now in early stages of the U.S. FDA regulatory process.
ACC&D serves as a bridge between animal welfare organizations, researchers, veterinarians, the public, and others pivotal to the success of new products in this area. There is much to be done to lay the groundwork for the use of new technologies, some with exciting nearer term applications to help animals. Our small staff and expert volunteers work on projects that aim to do both when possible.
