About Us:

Operational Quality: Oversee shelter logistics, from managing staff to ensuring facility maintenance. Implement best practices for animal welfare, adoption, and community support.
Financial Stewardship: Manage budgetary responsibilities, including overseeing funds, processing payroll, and maximizing the impact of shelter resources.
Team Development: Hire, train, and motivate an engaged team. Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and foster a culture of curiosity and improvement.
Community Engagement: Act as the face of Fluvanna SPCA in the community. Assist in outreach efforts and social media, and foster relationships with donors and partners.

What We’re Looking For:
Experience: Substantial experience in an animal shelter. Familiarity with Fear-Free and No-Kill practices is a plus.
Leadership Skills: A proactive, self-motivated leader with a knack for problem-solving and change management.
Communication: Good communication skills for diverse audiences.
Organizational Skills: Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute projects while maintaining a high standard of animal care and shelter operations.
Adaptability: A growth mindset with a willingness to embrace and lead through change.

Requirements:
Three years experience in an animal shelter (strongly preferred), and a minimum of one year supervisory experience.
Knowledge of animal welfare issues, including pertinent legislation and standards, and commitment to the no-kill philosophy of the FSPCA.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and supervise individuals. Ability to establish and maintain a respected leadership role. Ability to effectively delegate authority while retaining control. Ability to foster effective teamwork within the organization.
Ability to multitask and solve problems in a fluctuating environment.

Why Join Us?
