Job Description

FACE Low-Cost Animal Clinic (FACE) is interviewing for a full-time or part-time veterinarian to practice in our fast-paced clinic.

FACE is dedicated to reducing needless euthanasia by addressing the root causes of shelter intake: pet overpopulation and pet surrender. Our clinic provides spay/neuter, vaccine, and minor wellness care to nearly 30,000 dogs and cats annually.

By joining our dedicated team, you will be able to help with overpopulation and make pet ownership a reality to many people who would not otherwise have that opportunity due to financial constraints. Every day, we make a difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them.

We support our veterinarians by providing flexible scheduling, regular hours, competitive pay, and a rewarding work environment. No emergency duty required.

Essential Functions:

Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care.
Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date.
Assist colleagues in follow up and future management of the patient.
Assist in the establishment and maintenance of procedures and protocols.
Build effective relationships through positive interaction and communication with the community, volunteers, and staff.
Attend all staff meetings and training sessions.
Advocate the humane treatment of animals and be able to transmit these values to others.
Key Requirements:

Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Indiana.
Respect for and willingness to work with clients and their pets.
Compassionate team player who can uphold great reputation with clients.
A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine, upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
Proficiency in surgery.
Able and willing to work in a busy and fast-paced environment.
Able and willing to work some Saturdays.
