Job Description
Volunteers are a lifesaving support team for the McKamey Animal Center, and they play an essential role in helping MAC fulfill its mission: Saving Animals, Helping People. The Volunteer Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of volunteer activity and engagement, ensuring an atmosphere of mutual respect and cooperation. The Volunteer Manager actively recruits, on-boards and trains new volunteers, ensures that volunteers have the tools, information and support they need to perform assigned tasks, actively participates in all events and activities involving volunteers, and ensures that volunteers are a support to, and feel supported by, MAC staff. The successful candidate must love people (and animals!), must be adept at interacting with all types of passionate personalities with professionalism and empathy, must be eager to help engage volunteers in support of all aspects of the Center’s work, and must be a positive, enthusiastic “face of McKamey” for volunteers both inside and outside the Center.
