Job Description
Position Summary: The Development Coordinator provides administrative support to fundraising activities, campaigns and events, maintains the CRM database and mailing lists, creates and delivers meaningful donor communications and implements development initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively within all levels of the organization and across departments to cultivate a positive culture and team approach to fulfilling MCSPCA’s mission.
- Process all donations including online, mail, phone and in-kind by entering gift information into the database, adding pertinent donor information, and generating acknowledgments.
- Ensure acknowledgment and recognition communications are timely and meaningful including Honorary and Memorial gifts.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the CRM database and reconcile with CFO/accounting software monthly.
- Refresh donor acknowledgment content for letters and emails regularly.
- Collect impact stories and photos for use in thank you content, fundraising collateral and appeals.
- Collaborate with and support the Community Engagement Manager with community events including planning logistics, donations management, visual materials, event supplies and onsite support.
- Contribute to monthly newsletters and direct mail campaigns.
- Prepare a monthly report for the CEO Board report reflecting monthly and year-to-date development activity.
- Assist in developing an annual development strategy.
- Manage digital fundraising campaigns including year-end appeals, Giving Tuesday and email/online fundraising efforts.
- Prepare and deliver year end statements for monthly donors.
- Remain knowledgeable and in compliance with MCSPCA Personnel Guidelines, applicable State and Federal laws and MCSPCA policies, procedures and programs.
- Support programs and activities of MCSPCA as requested.
Experience/Attributes Desired:
- 2+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or development.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Donor relationship management experience.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Proficiency with donor management software/CRM systems.
