The Role
The Adoptions Specialist schedule will be, 4 10-hour shifts, Wednesday-Saturday. As an Adoptions Specialist, you will be responsible for:
Providing excellent customer care.
Completing adoption paperwork.
Promoting retail sales.
Collecting and maintaining accurate records.
Making lifelong matches between customers and our pets.
Providing information about the Humane Society of Charlotte’s policies and procedures and the animals in the shelters’ care.

What We Need From You
Enthusiasm for the mission of the Humane Society of Charlotte and helping animals in our community
Preferred: six months to one-year related experience and/or training
Must be comfortable interacting with dogs and cats
Ability to walk large dogs and lift up to 50lbs.
Exceptional verbal and written skills, including clear and effective communication with others (staff, public, volunteers) that is professional, respectful, positive and educational.
Computer literate in a Windows environment; proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
Must have a reliable mode of transportation
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed

As a result, in 2023 we were able to help over 3600 companion animals find new homes in the community and offer support to many others in our community.
