Job Description

Williamson County Government Animal Control is accepting applications for a full-time Animal Control Officer. Applicants must have a valid Tennessee Drivers License and the ability to lift 50 lbs. This position will investigate complaints and respond to calls of abandoned, abused or uncontrolled animals. Capture of these animals may be required. These calls may be related to both large and small animals. Experience with animals preferred, and must have the ability to be trained in legal procedures of Animal Control. Must have good computer skills and have the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.

Requires applicants have the ability to be on call after hours, weekends, and holidays as assigned to respond to calls via phone or in person.

Duties include but are not limited to -

Greet, communicate effectively with, and actively assist patrons.
Receive and respond to a variety of emergency and non-emergency, animal related calls for service, information, and complaints.
Reviews forms, data, and other documents and information to ensure accuracy and conformance to established procedures and/or policies.
Collect, process, and record financial information and transactions for fees collected.
Handle animals during intake, including but not limited to transporting animal from confinement space to alternate confinement space and providing vaccinations.
Promote a caring attitude toward all animals and treat animals humanely and with compassion at all times, regardless of circumstances, including those that are sick, injured, feral, or aggressive.
Support and participate in departmental response to disaster and emergency events.
Must be eligible to receive Euthanasia Licensure
Must be able to pass a background check
Provide a writing sample
Background check required
