The Behavior and Training Programs Manager collaborates with community members, fosters, staff, and volunteers to support animals in their homes, ensure successful adoptions, and implement behavior programs. They develop and maintain educational programs aligned with MHS goals for positive behavior modification and fear-free handling. We seek a passionate individual with a creative approach to innovate shelter behavior programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Drive strategic planning for behavior and training programs.
Develop behavior modification plans for shelter animals.
Provide behavior consultation for adoption and surrender programs.
Offer pre- and post-adoption support for successful transitions.
Train volunteers in animal socialization and supervise recruitment.
Implement ongoing skill-building for staff and volunteers.
Manage behavior equipment inventory and department budget.
Establish metrics and reports for behavior activities.
Represent MHS at industry events.
Requirements:

CPDT certification preferred.
Leadership experience in animal behavior and shelter operations.
Proficiency in positive reinforcement methods.
Experience in online training program development.
Strong animal handling skills and interpersonal communication.
Ability to lift weights up to 50-75lbs and work in various conditions.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
