The Community Programs Manager will lead our Programs Team and Adoption Counselors to success by ensuring they have the tools and skills they need to serve, educate, match adopters with appropriate pets, and bring joy and compassion to our community. Our goal is to elevate our team into “Pet Social Workers,” keeping pets with their families and empowering pet parents with the education and resources they need to humanely care for their pets. Duties & Responsibilities:
· Provide high-touch support to around 10 direct reports, including in-the-moment coaching, regular team meetings, professional development, and performance management.
· Prioritize the customer experience by training team members and creating structures that promote a smooth customer experience.
· Manage daily operations of the team, including the completion of daily tasks and division of the workload.
• Manage our community programs, which currently include: Adoptions, Affordable Spay/Neuter, Affordable Vaccination Clinic, Pet Help Desk, Foster, Todd’s Medical Assistance Fund, Jackie’s Community Cats, Wellness Waggin’, and our new Pets Are Family program (visit our website to learn about these!).
• Build community programs based on opportunities within available budget, current community needs, and data analysis.
· Assist team members with challenging customer interactions and use those situations as case studies for professional growth.
· Monitor the safety and cleanliness of the Adoption Center lobby.
· Collaborate with other managers to ensure team members have the information and supplies needed to be successful.
· Model behaviors to promote a positive work culture and Open Adoptions philosophy.
· Track and analyze data to identify areas for growth and/or improvement.
Qualifications:
· 3+ years of customer service experience in a leadership role preferred.
· Proven project management experience.
· Experience in animal welfare a plus! Though we will train the right candidate.
· Experience in community organizing and/or social services are a plus.
· Demonstrated background in team leadership including, coaching, supporting, praising, appreciation, and giving redirection and feedback to team members.
· Detail-oriented as these programs have multiple facets.
· Organized and able to prioritize projects in a fast-paced environment.
· Monday through Friday availability required. Occasional weekend availability may be needed to support our Vaccine Clinic. Flex time available.
· Communication, both verbal and written, must be outstanding and demonstrate high awareness of the impact of language on self and others. We provide ongoing “paw-sitive” management training and support.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and OneDrive. Proven ability to learn new software programs.
· Ability to read and speak English is required to perform the duties of the job.
· Bilingual skills are a HUGE plus!

Salary & Benefits:
• Salary - $55,000 and up, DOE
