Milo Foundation General Manager
The Milo Foundation is looking for a self-motivated and results-driven General Manager to direct and manage our organization's life-saving animal rescue goals. This position will be the senior and most important position at Milo, reporting only to Founder Lynne Tingle and the Milo Board.

Your entrepreneurial vision in directing business will assist Milo Foundation in maintaining and improving relationships with clients and donors, generating increased live outcomes for animals. You will be creating a stable business environment that will ensure sustainability, increase awareness of our mission, and meet cohesive goals for both Milo Point Richmond (MPR) and the Milo Sanctuary in Willits.

The successful candidate for this role should possess superior knowledge of nonprofit animal rescue business functions, excellent communication skills, exceptional budgeting and finance skills, and strong leadership qualities. The Milo Foundation General Manager should account for all business activities, support staff development, enhance efficiency, drive sound adoption processes, improve revenue, enhance the organization's image, and meet overall growth objectives.

General Manager Responsibilities:
• Implement and oversee daily operational policies.
• Ensure excellent customer service.
• Recruit, train and supervise staff; conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Ensure the safety, sanitation, and upkeep of the facility.
• Evaluate and find new revenue sources, including retaining & increasing donations with new fundraising efforts and growth of donor base.
• Analyze accounting and financial data and create and manage budgets.
• Coordinate/communicate development goals and spay/ neuter programs with director of development.
• Generate reports and give presentations as needed for donor, corporate funding, and the Milo Board.
• Increase volunteerism to decrease dependence on paid staff.
• Be a key liaison between the Director and management at the Milo Sanctuary and the MPR Adoption Center.
• Encourage social media engagement by staff and key volunteers.

General Manager Requirements:
• Five years’ experience managing a team; college degree preferred.
• Highly organized and able to juggle a fast-paced, hectic environment.
• Strong leadership, work ethic, creativity, and problem-solving qualities.
• Ability to handle difficult situations with compassion and professionalism.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good knowledge of or experience with nonprofit animal rescue goals.
• Computer literate; familiar or able to pick-up Shelter Luv and other animal rescue software.
