Equine Advocates is a national non-profit organization. Our sanctuary is home to 80+ rescued horses, ponies, donkeys & mules. We are seeking applicants who have compassion for animals.

* The HUMANE EDUCATOR aspect of this position is to develop and oversee adult and youth education programs. To plan, implement and update the Humane Education Program. And to reach out to schools for educational classes/field trips to the sanctuary. Create interactive PowerPoint presentations for each class based on age and give tours to the students afterwards. Work with Social Media Manager on posting fun and informational videos with the horses an recommend updates to the Humane Education web page.
* THE ACCOUNTING CLERK aspect of this job: In QuickBooks (QB) enter deposits, journal entries and check writing; Reviews all invoices. Prepare spreadsheet for all credit card invoices with receipts; Do all bank reconciliations. File all paid bills, bank statements, state filing forms, etc.; Oversee all monthly/quarterly credit card donations and contact those donors when credit cards have expired or failed. Process all credit card donations that come in the mail. Prepare and deposit all cash received. Reconcile all website donations. Payroll: Maintain records of sick and vacation time; reviews hourly staff time cards; submit payroll to ADP weekly.
The OFFICE MANAGEMENT aspect of this job includes pick up/drop off at mail at the post office; Open mail daily - count, sort, batch and log all donations; Maintain all office supplies and order as needed; Maintain all office equipment: Assist in data entry in DonorPerfect database and assist with all general office work including answering phones and covering for lunch.
OTHER DUTIES include: Volunteer Liaison. Initial contact and interviews before introducing to equine manager(s) Assist with Public Open Days (including set-up & close up) Oversee and work with all Community Service projects. Give tours to VIP guests Assist with Annual Gala and other Events Update/Maintain Procedures Manual for all office processes.
All staff need to be open to jumping in and helping as needed for any job being tackled.
