Job Description
Essential Functions of the Position:
Working closely with the VP of Development and the finance team, the Manager, Development Operations plays a critical role in leading the development team and the smooth functioning of the SPCA of Texas as a whole.
At a high level, the Manager, Development Operations will set the tone, pace, and vision for how the SPCA of Texas’s development team approaches tracking and reporting of donor moves management work, the development of our major gift pipeline, tracking and reporting of team goals, analysis of fundraising performance by category, fundraising goal setting, the quality and accuracy of donor records, the fidelity and timeliness of all gift processes including gift documentation, reviewing of gift agreements, month-end-close, annual audits, etc.
This role is vital to the culture of the development team and the SPCA of Texas as a whole. Successful people in this position will be strong project managers, collaborative, have a growth mindset, demonstrate integrity in all donor and team communications and interactions, and be able to balance both strategic thinking with sound, tactical decision-making. Candidates should have demonstrated success in development operations, database management, financial analysis, management and budgeting, as well as managing high-performing, high-trust teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee the Raiser's Edge database, including maintenance, user accounts and security, gift entry, reporting, queries, and data cleanup with the goal of providing current, consistent, and accurate data.
• Develop, implement, maintain and regularly train others on standard operating policies and procedures for ensuring the integrity of the Raiser's Edge database, including, but not limited to, data entry, gift entry, reporting, prospect management and prospect research.
• Maintain industry best practices for data management and actively updates governance documents for the organization to represent current operating procedures.
• Serve as primary liaison to database provider(s), i.e. Blackbaud and serve as primary liaison for payment processors, CRM databases, and all third-party platforms related to fundraising and development operations.
• In conjunction with Accounting Department, oversees all operations related to gifting, pledging, and receipting of cash and in-kind donations.
• Work closely with the entire development team to ensure accurate and timely gift receipting processes.
• Generate mailing and suppression lists for direct mail, special events and fundraising campaigns oversee data quality audits and National Change of Address updates..
• Reconcile and close monthly development financials on time. Ensure all income reports tie back to accounting.
• Lead prospect research process by developing audits for prospecting, performing research and writing profiles, and managing and integrating third-party wealth data into the database.
• Develop, refine, and execute sophisticated auditing and reporting procedures related account and contact maintenance, moves management, and donor recognition
• Provide thoughtful guidance and assistance related to Development KPI dashboards for analysis at the Board, senior leadership, and team levels (combining data from development, financial, shelter, and veterinary databases) for the SPCA of Texas leadership.
• Proactively identify opportunities for systems and workflow improvements, recognize potential problems, and provide recommendations for solutions.
• Assist with projects and events as needed.
Knowledge, skill, and abilities needed to perform the Essential functions of this position:
• 5 years of database management experience, bachelors degree required.
• Mastery of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge 7.0 and NXT, certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Blackbaud Financial Edge.
• Experience in multi-directional data integration.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerBI).
• Must be accurate and detail oriented.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with co-workers, volunteers, board members, and the general public.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Work well under pressure with a diverse task load with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.
• While performing the duties of this job this position may be exposed to animal odors or airborne particles.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.

Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm
