Job Description

What is Gigi’s?
Not your grandma’s place or cupcakes – we’re a startup and rapidly growing non-profit that provides access to integrated shelter, veterinary, and behavior care to homeless dogs in rural shelters.

We believe that Improving the Lives of Shelter Dogs™ requires a different approach in shelters and rescues. We've assembled one set of experts in one care facility to serve many rural shelters; a more cost-effective method of delivering quality care to save more lives. Gigi’s is adding new programming to offer low-cost veterinary services to high-quality rescues and we’re expanding our veterinary team (all positions.) We want you to join and learn with our team of experts!

We’re focused on your personal growth along with our mission! We believe in people and want them to excel at things they love, try things that scare them, and develop into professionals they’re proud to be. We believe in creating a culture of growth, support, and intention and we believe have a model that will be the future care for dogs in shelters. It's time for you to join our team so we can save more dogs!

Other duties as assigned? Absolutely. We think every job should change and grow—getting more efficient and effective as we go! All team members at Gigi’s collaborate and change tasks as requested by leadership. You will most certainly do things we haven’t listed here; some are tasks we haven’t captured because they’re too small to capture and keep you interested, some are projects we haven’t considered that you’ll bring to the team, some things we’ll build together to improve the care of dogs forever.

Want to know more about us and this role?
We operate in a state-of-the-art hospital that sits inside a three-building, 26,000-square-foot campus doing things like high-volume/high-quality spay and neuter, veterinary behavior medicine – alongside a board-certified veterinary behaviorist! –parvovirus treatment, dental surgery, diagnostics, mass removal, and more. We do shelter medicine at a volume and skill level that will fulfill you as much as it challenges you!

What’s it like at Gigi’s?
Think of us as shelter medicine, meets private practice, meets education and research – all for the rural dogs and the people that care for them; from that rural pup that needs lifesaving parvo treatment to the rural shelter professional who is looking for ideas to help a fearful dog.

We’re here to create partnerships, to learn, and to grow through challenging each other and collaborating. We are chill and supportive, but professional and driven. Most importantly, we aren’t an adventure for everyone, but for those who get it and get us, you’ll be happy you joined.
