About the Role:
As a Shelter Veterinarian, you will provide clinical care and oversight for all aspects of our veterinary services. This includes:
• Surgical and Clinical Practice: Lead our dedicated veterinary team in providing high-quality medical and surgical care for shelter and community animals.
• Standards of Care: Set and uphold the highest standards for animal well-being within our shelter.
• Community Medicine: Develop and implement programs that promote pet health and increase access to veterinary care in our community.
You'll be a great fit if you:
• Hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and have experience in shelter medicine or a related specialty.
• Possess strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Are dedicated to providing compassionate care and embrace contextualized care
• Thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
What WVHS offers you:
• Competitive Salary: $120,000-140,000 with a sign-on bonus
• Time off: 6 weeks of PTO plus sick time
• Insurance: Full medical, dental & vision insurance
• Sabbatical: A month-long sabbatical every three years!
• Continuing Education: Financial compensation & one dedicated week for CE
• Sustainable Schedule: 37-hour work week (M-F) with a supportive team of veterinary technicians, assistants, and a Veterinary Services Manager with no after hours calls.
