Job Description

Are you committed to saving lives? Then come join us to help prevent pet homelessness and its tragic consequences. PetFix Northeast Ohio is a non-profit organization that provides high-quality, affordable, spay and neuter surgeries. Since opening in 2006, we have performed more than 130,000 surgeries for family pets, shelter/rescue pets and community cats. This is an exciting time at PetFix as we will be opening a second clinic in 2025! We’re fixing nearly 11,000 pets annually (which is amazing), but we’re still finding that we can’t accommodate everyone who needs affordable spay/neuter appointments. Adding a second location will have a huge impact in our community. Will you join us?

This position is perfect for a veterinarian who wants a great work-life balance – very predictable weekday hours (no long days, no nights and no weekends). The position also requires very limited client interaction and no difficult conversations about services the pet owner can’t afford. Competitive salary is based on experience. We provide health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement savings plan, paid holidays, paid time off and substantially discounted services for personal pets. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, veterinarians who work for PetFix would qualify under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program (PSLF).

Our region is a great place to live! Northeast Ohio offers a relatively low cost of living compared to other parts of the U.S. We have a rich cultural scene, including world-class museums (e.g., the Cleveland Museum of Art), theaters, music venues, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as well as professional sports teams and a variety and vibrancy of restaurants. The area boasts scenic parks, trails, and access to Lake Erie. Cuyahoga Valley National Park is a major attraction for hiking, biking, and wildlife watching.

Reporting to the Medical Director, the surgeon is responsible for high-level medical care and sterilization provided to clinic patients. Proficiency in canine and feline sterilization surgeries is necessary. Applicants must be a licensed veterinarian in the State of Ohio and have professional liability insurance.
