Pet-inclusive housing is more than just a necessity for pet owners; it plays a crucial role in our collective health and wellness and fosters healthier and stronger communities. Pets have become more central in people’s lives, yet restrictive housing policies have led to increased pet relinquishment, have been applied inequitably, and have strained finite resources in both the human services and animal welfare spaces. Sadly, as a result of arbitrary pet policies, including restrictions on size and breed, many families are forced to choose between a roof over their head and keeping or adopting a beloved companion and family member.

In this webinar, we’ll explore the lasting impact of housing policies on communities today and understand what it means to be truly pet-inclusive. We'll discuss how a coalition of advocates, animal welfare professionals, government agencies, and human services providers can drive change by engaging policymakers to enact inclusive housing laws and learning how to build partnerships in your community to better support people with pets.
