Chumkee Aziz, DVM, DABVP
Senior Director, board president, Association of Shelter Veterinarians
Chumkee obtained her DVM degree at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She completed a rotating internship at the ASPCA’s Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital in NYC in 2013 and a shelter medicine residency with the Koret Shelter Medicine Program at the University of California, Davis in 2016. She currently works for the ASPCA as a senior director in the shelter medicine services department. Her areas of focus include the role of community collaboration in mitigating pet homelessness, proactive shelter population management and infectious disease prevention in shelters. Chumkee is board certified in Shelter Medicine Practice through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. She joined the Association of Shelter Veterinarians board in 2017 and has served as the board president since 2020.
