Eleni Healey, DVM

Watershed Community Medicine Intern, University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Eleni Healey is the watershed community medicine intern at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She practices medicine and surgery with several Philadelphia-area partner clinics and shelters, and also participates in shelter consultations, continuing education programming and mentorship for vet students. In response to ongoing access to care issues and the critical need for virtual care options during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, Dr. Healey launched a free community telemedicine service for Philadelphia pet owners in partnership with Pets For Life.

Prior to her role with PennVet, Dr. Healey completed her DVM at Cornell University where she helped direct a low-cost community wellness clinic, and trained with shelters and community medicine programs across the US. Prior to her veterinary training she worked in community organizing and communications for several environmental justice and public health initiatives.
