Emily Smith is the senior editorial director at the Humane Society of the United States. She leads a team of writers and editors who produce content for HumanePro, All Animals magazine, humanesociety.org and other communications. She joined the HSUS in 2014 after 15 years working in journalism and is thrilled to have found a role that blends those skills with her passion for animal advocacy, particularly the fight to end cosmetics testing on animals. She lives in California with her husband, three high-energy kids and two low-energy cats.
