Heather Cammisa
President/CEO, Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center
President/CEO of St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, Heather Cammisa is the first in New Jersey animal welfare to have achieved the signature designation of Certified Animal Welfare Administrator. She has been at the organization’s helm since 2010 and under her guidance St. Hubert’s has risen to a leadership role regionally and nationally. Her experience afield throughout the nation and her vision for the future inspired the creation of St. Hubert’s innovative Sister Shelter WayStation transport partnership program. Prior to joining St. Hubert’s, Heather filled several roles within the Humane Society of the United States and was responsible for research, development and implementation of a spay/neuter campaign, along with shelter outreach and targeted infrastructure investments in Louisiana and Mississippi, partnering with other national organizations and foundations to advance animal welfare in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Heather holds a Masters Degree in Economics from Rutgers University. She and her husband share their hearts and home with adopted animals including Jazzy, a certified pet therapy dog who volunteers with children at St. Hubert’s.
