Keren Nazareth
Interim Director, Companion Animals & Engagement, Humane Society International, India
Keren oversees programs related to dog population management and community engagement in Asia and Africa. She has also worked extensively in community mobilization, participation, youth development, livelihoods – including some pioneering work in non-traditional livelihoods for women, setting up a rural artisans marketing platform, and working with displaced communities in India.
She has 15 years of experience in development and was the Executive Director for a non-profit in India, which works with vulnerable families in urban and rural India and a Programme Officer at the Centre for Environment Education working on youth development and documenting work on disaster mitigation and preparedness documentation post the tsunami of 2004.
Keren holds a Masters in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai is an Aspen Institute Fellow (2011), in their program on Emerging Leaders in Development in and a JustJobs Network Fellow.
