Neha Panchamia
Founder and President, RESQ Charitable Trust
Neha began her journey in the field of working with animals when she founded her NGO called RESQ Charitable Trust in 2007. Since RESQ’s inception and her leadership as the president of the organization, RESQ has been consistently evolving and steadily grown to cover several frontiers of animal welfare and is today is one of Maharashtra’s largest active citywide animal rescue NGO which has provided free medical aid, rescue and rehabilitation to over 80,000+ wildlife and domestic animals.
Over the past 13+ years, Neha’s experience in working with domestic animals as well as wildlife puts her in a unique position to have gained an unbiased view and a deep understanding of the problems that exist in both, urban and rural ecosystems. Neha’s efforts are largely dedicated towards human welfare by committing a considerable portion of RESQ’s efforts towards improving public health and safety as well as mitigating human-animal conflict.
Neha is a public speaker, educator and trainer who believes that the animal sector needs to be dealt with equal amounts of passion and practicality to achieve the level of professionalism that any other sector operates with. Her initiatives involve several outreach and education programs as well as working with governmental bodies to bridge gaps and assist in crisis management that surround public and governmental interactions related to animal welfare. She has also spearheaded disaster relief efforts for animals, collaborated with governmental and non-governmental entities alike, and influenced change of attitude in animal welfare, law and policy implementation.
