On behalf of the HSUS and co-sponsor Maddie’s Fund, Vicki Stevens manages the Ad Council’s Pets and People Together public service announcement campaign, which calls people to Be A Helper by taking direct action to keep pets with their families. A 30+ year veteran of the animal welfare field, Stevens has led and contributed to a variety of programs—including those focusing on pet adoption and spay/neuter—at the HSUS and other national organizations. Stevens first joined the HSUS as an 11-year-old member of its Kindness In Nature’s Defense Club, which sparked a lifelong commitment to a vegan lifestyle. Stevens and her husband share their home with cats Clarissa—who adopted them—and sisters Chloe and Colt, whom they adopted (shout out to A Cat’s Life Rescue).
