If so, we’re looking for a dedicated Animal Behavior Coordinator to join our team in Evans, CO! Help us enrich the lives of shelter animals (cats, dogs, chickens, turtles, guinea pigs, and more!) while working with a compassionate team in a dynamic environment.

NOCO Humane is an independent nonprofit working to further the compassionate, safe, and responsible relationship between animals and people. A trusted, responsive community leader, providing programs and services essential to the high quality of life for animals and people in northern Colorado.

Full-time (40 hours), non-exempt, hourly. Hiring range begins at $18.00 per hour and is commensurate with applicable experience and education. Closes June 4th, 2025, or when filled.

What You'll Do
• Animal Evaluations: Assess animals for outcomes like adoption, foster placement, medical care, or euthanasia.
• Behavior Support: Create guides for fosters and adopters, and offer behavior counseling to clients.
• Enrichment: Ensure animals’ emotional and enrichment needs are met, including socialization and co-housing.
• Training: Train staff, volunteers, and students in animal handling, behavior, and enrichment techniques.
• Collaboration: Work closely with veterinary, shelter, and foster/transfer teams to support animal care.
• Administrative Duties: Manage behavior reports, SOP updates, and department communications.
What We’re Looking For
• Education & Experience: Associate degree (or equivalent experience) in animal sciences or related fields. At least 1 year in animal welfare or 6 months of internal experience in animal handling.
• Skills: Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience with animal behavior evaluation and positive reinforcement training methods preferred.
• Abilities: Calm under pressure, strong multitasking skills, and willingness to become euthanasia certified.
• Other Requirements: Must be 21+, with a valid Colorado Driver’s License. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus (includes wage premium).
