The Animal Care Technician is an important part of League City Animal Care’s team. This position includes a shared responsibility for the care and well-being of LCAC’s resident pets. This position provides care and training, in the form of Fear Free handling, for our shelter animals. In addition, the ideal candidate will demonstrate
excellent customer service skills that provide a high level of pleasant, professional service to all visitors, staff, and volunteers, and is expected to offer excellence in customer service and public education to all citizens. The Animal Care Technician frequently utilizes shelter software to document behavior, medical conditions and treatment, and records medical information. This position also performs vaccines, blood draws, issuing microchips and may run diagnostic tests. The ideal candidate should be prepared to work independently, follow all health and safety guidelines, and enthusiastically contribute to the professional culture and mission of the League City Animal Care team. This is a safety sensitive and/or DOT position. As such, you will be required to participate in random drug testing at the city.
