Are you passionate about animal welfare and skilled in leading teams to make a positive impact? As the Shelter Manager, you'll oversee the daily operations of the animal shelter, including client services, animal care, and behavior enrichment programs. You’ll manage supervisors and a team of over 20 staff members, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to best practices in animal welfare. NOCO Humane is an independent nonprofit working to further the compassionate, safe, and responsible relationship between animals and people.

Full-time (40 hours), exempt, salary. Expected hiring range is $60K to $70K commensurate with experience and education. Relocation assistance may be available. Closes June 4th, 2025, or when filled.

Key Responsibilities
Shelter Operations
• Oversee shelter staff, including supervisors and team members, ensuring smooth daily operations.
• Manage staffing, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
• Oversee animal care, client services, and behavior programs, including euthanasia procedures and compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate adoption events and represent the organization in external partnerships.
Budgeting & Planning
• Develop and monitor the annual shelter budget.
• Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements.
Training & Development
• Ensure team training and growth opportunities.
• Implement and maintain standard operating procedures.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applicable professional work experience.
• 2+ years supervising teams in animal welfare or related fields.
• 2+ years working with the general public in a customer focused role.
• Experience managing staff, budgets, and multi-department operations.
Skills & Knowledge
• Strong expertise in animal care, behavior, and handling.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is a bonus (includes wage premium).
Additional Requirements
• Must be 21+ with a valid Colorado Driver’s License and insurable driving record.
• Willingness to perform euthanasia and obtain certifications upon hire.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and on-call availability.
