Are you passionate about animal welfare and skilled in leading teams to make a positive impact? As an Animal Shelter Manager, you’ll oversee the daily operations of the animal shelter, including client services and animal care. You’ll manage supervisors and a team of over 20 staff members, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to best practices in animal welfare. This is your chance to combine leadership, compassion, and organizational expertise to create a better future for animals (Cats, dogs, rabbits, turtles, and more!) and the community.NOCO Humane is an independent nonprofit working to further the compassionate, safe, and responsible relationship between animals and people.
Full-time (40 hours), exempt, salary. Expected hiring range is $65K to $70K commensurate with experience and education. Relocation assistance may be available. Closes October 15th, 2025, or when filled.

Key Responsibilities
Shelter Operations
Oversee shelter staff, including supervisors and team members, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Manage staffing, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance reviews.
Oversee animal care and client services, including euthanasia procedures and compliance with regulations.
Coordinate adoption events and represent the organization in external partnerships.
Budgeting & Planning
Develop and monitor the annual shelter budget.
Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements.
Training & Development
Ensure team training and growth opportunities.
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent applicable professional work experience.
2+ years supervising teams in animal welfare or related fields.
2+ years working with the general public in a customer focused role.
Experience managing staff, budgets, and multi-department operations.
Skills & Knowledge
Strong expertise in animal care, behavior, and handling.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Bilingual in English/Spanish is a bonus (includes wage premium).
Additional Requirements
Must be 21+ with a valid Colorado Driver’s License and insurable driving record.
Willingness to perform euthanasia and obtain certifications upon hire.
Flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and on-call availability.
