Coordinator, Community & Tour Experiences
Location: Watkins Glen, NY
Reports to: Manager, Tour Program
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Pay: $45,000 annually ($21.63/hour)
Travel: As assigned
Summary
The Coordinator of Community & Tour Experiences fosters meaningful public engagement through sanctuary tours, off-site events, and regional outreach initiatives. Based in Watkins Glen, this role leads educational tours at the sanctuary, supports events and microevents across the U.S. in partnership with Programs and Development teams, and helps strengthen community connections—particularly in New York City. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, organized communicator passionate about connecting people to farmed animals and compassionate living.
Key Responsibilities
Lead engaging, mission-aligned educational tours at the Watkins Glen sanctuary.
Support planning and execution of off-site events and microevents nationwide.
Represent Farm Sanctuary as an informed and enthusiastic ambassador at events.
Assist with event logistics, including materials, travel coordination, setup, and reporting.
Collaborate cross-departmentally through the Events Working Group.
Contribute to regional community initiatives and partnerships, with a focus on NYC.
Cultivate relationships with volunteers, partners, and community organizations.
Maintain accurate records of tours, events, and outreach activities.
Ensure consistent messaging and alignment across public engagement efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in advocacy, education, or outreach related to animal welfare, sustainability, or food systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proven administrative and organizational abilities.
Commitment to Farm Sanctuary’s values of compassion, understanding, integrity, transformation, and freedom.
Familiarity with—or willingness to learn and practice—equity and social justice principles.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on sanctuary grounds.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor in outdoor, non–climate-controlled environments.
Ability to work in varied weather conditions and use standard technology for communication and documentation.
