This position Supervises/Manages: HR Generalist and Talent Recruiter
Essential Functions of the Position:
• Manage payroll process, preparation, and distribution.
• Develops, coordinates and administers programs for employee recruitment, selection, professional development, and promotion to assure proper staffing of all positions.
• Set up and maintain HR paper and electronic Departmental files.
• Manages employee benefit programs, including workers compensation, health care, life, STD, LTD, AD&D, etc.
• Works with the finance department in the preparation and processing of the payroll.
• Maintain workers compensation information and assist management with proper completion of required information.
• Prepare letters, memos, reports, and other information as needed for HR.
• Assures the proper implementation and administration of all human resources policies, procedures, and programs and coordinates this through the Leadership team.
• Maintains personnel records and files and acts as a focal point for information flow and distribution of human resources information entering or leaving the Organization
• Provides counsel, to all levels of Management, in recommending appropriate courses of action regarding employee relation issues and champions the cause for employee involvement and empowerment.

• Payroll processing issues.
• Organizational questions about employment law.
• Counseling actions.
• Policy, procedure, and process compliance.
• Responses to unemployment claims.
• Benefits administration.
• Salary administration.

• Poor or inadequate communication from functional groups.
• Employees who are not happy with a decision that has been made.
• Multi-tasking and being interrupted by new issues that must be immediately handled.

• Lack of knowledge on how to counsel employees.
• Lack of knowledge and desire to hold individuals accountable.

• Develops, coordinates and administers programs for employee recruitment, selection, professional development, and promotion to assure proper staffing of all positions.
• Develops, coordinates, and administers new employee orientation, employee activities, equal employment opportunity, and other programs as needed.
• Manages employee benefit programs, including workers compensation, health care, life, STD, LTD, AD&D, etc.
• Provides counsel, to all levels of Management, in recommending appropriate courses of action regarding employee relation issues and champions the cause for employee involvement and empowerment
Knowledge, skill, and abilities needed to perform the Essential functions of this position:
• Microsoft Suite expertise - Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point.
• Knowledge of ADP Pay Expert software and EZLabor Management.
• Able to handle highly confidential information.
• Detail oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
• Positive, professional, customer-focused attitude and demeanor with a love of animals
• A strong commitment to TEAM work.
• Availability to work 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and overtime as necessary.
Required education, professional licensing, or certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Psychology preferred; Master's degree in Organizational Development, Business, or like-minded area preferred
• PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.
• A minimum of (4) days a week in the office provides the ideal combination of in-person collaboration and career development opportunities while still providing flexibility and a work-life balance.
