About HSC
The Humane Society of Charlotte has been in operation for over 47 years. In June 2022, we had the pleasure of moving to our brand-new state-of-the-art building located in the heart of Charlotte. Here we were able to establish a thriving educational program that focuses on youth programming, adult education, continuing education programs for animal welfare professionals, and a public dog training program. In 2024, HSC’s educational programming has comprised of over 1,000 youth and 1,000 adults reached in our community, and over 900 dogs that have participated in our training programming.

The Role
The Education Manager will conduct classes as well as provide day to day operational management for education staff and education programs including on and off-site youth programming initiatives, adult education, continuing education programs for animal welfare professionals, and our dog training program.

In this role, you'll have the exciting opportunity to:

Drive innovation in educational programming that’s both meaningful and fun for students.
Collaborate with a passionate team to design and deliver engaging learning experiences.
Bring creativity to life through interactive initiatives that spark curiosity and joy.
Lead marketing and communication efforts to amplify the impact of our programs.
Develop new initiatives that expand our reach and deepen our educational mission.

This is a Monday – Friday position with occasional evenings and weekends needed for programming. This is a full-time exempt position for $60,000/year.

The ideal candidate will have:

Required: Valid driver’s license, reliable mode of transportation and good driving record.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field or commensurate experience.
Preferred: Demonstration of previous successful experience in program administration and organization strategy.
Preferred: Previous experience working or volunteering in an animal welfare setting.
Preferred: Knowledge of NC State Educational Standards.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends when needed for programming.
