Job Description

EASEL Animal Rescue League is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead the area’s premier animal welfare organization with oversight and responsibility to the management, budget, safety and success of the shelter. The successful candidate will champion our vision of a community where the human-animal bond is strong and an environment of respect for living creatures guarantees animals a healthy indoor home or safe habitat.
This position requires independent judgment, initiative, strong interpersonal skills, great presentation skills and advanced administrative skills. In addition, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with all staff, stakeholders, and media is essential. The ED must be creative in developing new programs, collaborations and activities as well as providing strong leadership to staff, support to the Board and to all Board committees.
Further responsibilities include the development and implementation of a strategic plan for the short and long-term growth and success of the organization to ensure continued financial stability. Therefore, the successful candidate must demonstrate proven development and financial skills, as well as the ability to cultivate public/private partnerships. Applicants must have at least 10 years of nonprofit experience and have a strong understanding of issues and industry practices in animal welfare. Capital Campaign experience is a plus.
