Job Description

Mitchell County Animal Rescue is seeking a qualiﬁed applicant to be liaison between the Board of Directors, the community, customers and the shelter staﬀ. The applicant should have skills to lead an aggressive fundraising program to sustain and grow the organization’s mission.

The Executive Director will report to the Board of Directors. This position will be expected to uphold the mission of Mitchell County Animal Rescue and promote its goals, advising the Board of Directors in making decisions for the best interest of the organization. Required skills include but are not limited to the following: working knowledge of fundraising, grant writing, development activities, strong motivational skills, management skills and interpersonal skills with the staﬀ and the public required with a major focus on fundraising and ﬁnancial sustainability.

The Executive Director must show conﬁdence, desire to help animals, and strategic thinking abilities. Duties and responsibilities revolve primarily around fundraising and community leadership, and top-end decision-making. The Executive Director works closely with the Shelter Manager to understand the needs and goals of the organization in order to eﬀectively seek funding to sustain the organization’s operations.
