Executive Director
Humane Society of Carroll County, Inc. – Central Maryland
The Humane Society of Carroll County (HSCC), a well-established, no-kill 501(c)(3) public animal shelter in central Maryland, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization into its next chapter.
HSCC operates a low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic and serves as the contracted provider for Carroll County Animal Control Services. We are committed to compassionate animal care, community education, and lifesaving programs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the shelter, its services, and personnel
• Oversee fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, and grant development
• Direct community outreach programs and public relations efforts
• Manage the delivery and performance of Animal Control services
• Report directly to and collaborate with the Board of Directors
Qualifications:
• 5–10+ years of experience in shelter management, animal science, business management, and/or nonprofit fundraising
• Proven leadership skills with a passion for animal welfare
• Strong organizational, communication, and financial management abilities
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary: $90,000–$100,000 (commensurate with experience)
