Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a creative, detail-oriented Fundraising & Marketing Associate to join our Development & Marketing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is motivated to grow both fundraising revenue and community engagement. This person will balance donor stewardship, campaign support, and marketing outreach to help elevate AHS’s impact and visibility across New Jersey.
What You’ll Do
Fundraising & Donor Relations
Support planning and execution of fundraising campaigns (ResQFund, sweepstakes, Giving Tuesday, etc.).
Develop donation pages, appeals, emails, and campaign reports.
Research and propose new fundraising opportunities and income streams.
Monitor fundraising performance and provide data-driven insights.
Write compelling donor-focused stories and impact content.
Assist with stewardship of small–mid-level donors through personalized communication.
Serve as backup gift processor, answering donor inquiries and processing contributions.
Marketing & Communications
Collaborate with the social media team and event coordinator to create branded marketing materials.
Ensure consistency of AHS branding across all campaigns, shelters, and programs.
Support marketing efforts for adoptions, programs, and Popcorn Park Refuge.
Assist in creating newsletters, online content, and donor communications.
Track and report on marketing and campaign performance.
Collaboration & Teamwork
Work closely with the Development & Marketing team to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and events.
Partner with event, social media, and program staff to align efforts.
Jump in as needed to keep projects moving and campaigns successful.
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or marketing preferred.
Strong writing and communication skills with an ability to tell inspiring stories.
Familiarity with email and fundraising platforms (Mailchimp, Classy, Constant Contact).
Basic design skills using Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar tools.
Comfort reviewing fundraising/marketing reports and turning insights into action.
Bonus skills: photography, video, or other creative content creation.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects.
Collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
Passionate about animal welfare and connecting supporters to our mission.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
