To help bring our mission and strategic plan to life, the SPCA of Texas is seeking a highly organized full-time Gift Processing Clerk. Reporting to the head of the Development Operations Team, and working closely with the Finance Team, this individual will be responsible for ensuring all gifts are processed correctly and in a timely manner. 

Successful people in this role will be collaborative, have a growth mindset, demonstrate integrity in all communications and interactions, and able to balance both strategic thinking and technical knowledge for the SPCA of Texas. Candidates should have demonstrated bookkeeping experience. They should have strong internal and external communication skills, and feel comfortable communicating complex data in a clear and focused manner. 

Essential duties and responsibilities 

• Ensure data integrity by inputting information accurately into the database.

• Collaborate actively with the Finance Team

• Process and enter all gifts (online, lockboxes, credit cards, checks) into Raiser's Edge and post to Financial Edge.

• Help ensure that we close the financial books each month on time and in an accurate manner.

• Proactively help ensure that our annual audit process runs smoothly.

• Review and update gift processing procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in our operations.

• Perform regular data audits to identify and correct any discrepancies within the database.

• Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive information.

• Confirm all corporate and foundation matching gifts, manage all employee giving campaign downloads and ensure records are kept updated

• Update donor records from lock boxes, returned mail, and donor surveys

• Be an ambassador for the SPCA of Texas, sharing the work and mission with your friends and family and be knowledgeable of the various ways to support our work

• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, skill, and abilities needed to perform the Essential functions of this position:

• Must demonstrate the Core Values of the SPCA of Texas on and off the job

• 1-2 years of bookkeeping experience

• "What else can I do?" mentality to go above and beyond customer service approach with internal and external audiences

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to be self-motivated and disciplined

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data entry skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and generate actionable insights.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality. Familiarity with data protection regulations and best practices for data security and privacy.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience

Working Conditions

• The individual performing this job may be required to work more than 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a week.

Schedule - Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm
