Pet Helpers is seeking a dedicated High-Volume, High-Quality Spay/Neuter (HVHQSN) Veterinarian to join our compassionate and mission-driven team in Charleston, South Carolina. For more than 40 years, Pet Helpers has been a cornerstone of animal welfare in the Lowcountry — saving lives, preventing pet overpopulation, and providing affordable veterinary care to our community.
As our HVHQSN Veterinarian, you will play a vital role in our mission to end unnecessary euthanasia and reduce shelter intake across the region. You’ll perform efficient, high-quality spay/neuter surgeries and provide comprehensive veterinary care to shelter animals, ensuring they receive the medical attention and compassion they deserve. You’ll work in our state-of-the-art surgical suite alongside a skilled and caring medical team that shares your passion for helping animals and supporting the people who love them.
What You’ll Do
• Perform high-volume, high-quality spay/neuter surgeries and related procedures.
• Provide daily veterinary care, diagnostics, and treatment plans for shelter animals.
• Oversee anesthesia, pain management, and post-operative care protocols that meet the highest standards of animal welfare.
• Partner with our shelter medicine team to ensure every animal receives quality medical care and the best chance for adoption.
• Support community initiatives, including TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and low-cost surgery programs, low-cost vaccine clinic that keep pets safe and families together.

Who You Are
• DVM/VMD with a current South Carolina veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experienced and confident in high-volume spay/neuter surgery
