Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)Animal Friends Humane Society (AFHS) – Hamilton, OH
Full-Time or Part-Time | $24-$28/hour (based on experience)

Animal Friends Humane Society (AFHS) is Butler County’s largest and oldest nonprofit animal shelter, serving over 5,000 animals each year since 1952.We serve Butler county's animals and residents through a mission-driven, lifesaving approach, including stray intake, reunification efforts, and essential medical care. Job Responsibilities
• Provide medical and preventive care for shelter animals across all stages of intake, treatment, and adoption
• Assist with surgery prep, anesthesia monitoring, and post-op care (spay/neuter and soft tissue procedures)
• Perform diagnostics including lab work including bloodwork, fecals, urinalysis, and radiographs
• Collaborate with veterinarians to develop and upsate treatment plans based on observed progress
• Play an active role in Fear Free handling, behavior-med protocols, and medical decision-making
• Support community programs including TNR, vaccine clinics, and medical consults for AFHS fosters
• Communicate clearly and professionally with adopters, foster, volunteers, and internal teams
• Help maintain medical records and ensure adherence to established protocols and SOPs
You’ll Support These Programs:
• High-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgeries
• Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) for community cats
• Pet retention programs for low-income families
• Medical care coordination across departments to support positive outcomes
Qualifications
• Active RVT license in Ohio
• Shelter or clinical experience preferred
• Excellent communication, time management, and clinical skills
• Willingness to follow and contribute to shelter medical protocols and best practices
• Collaborative mindset and openness to cross-training and professional development
• Compassion for animals and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment

Schedule
• 8-10 hour shifts (flexible start time)
