Job Description
RIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This position requires independent judgment, initiative and discretion in a variety of issues and situations and acts as an intermediary between the public and humane agents. It is responsible for all office tasks including handling of confidential information, handles all administrative details for director and other staff, interprets and explains rules, regulations, policies, procedures to the public. This position will assist with animal seizures by coordinating efforts of staff and logistics. Receives, verifies, rewrites, adjust and post receipts for accounts receivable and payable. This position is also responsible for ordering supplies, procurement, and maintaining the director's calendar. Heavy telephone work is required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a solid knowledge of the principles and practices of office processes and administrative functions to perform complex secretarial support tasks, and 2) the ability to use independent judgment, initiative, and discretion to make determinations on varied matters. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Secretary.
Preference will be given to candidates who have ability to categorize, track, and dispatch information to active field staff, those who have experience in animal welfare and those who are fluent users of Access databases and the PetPoint database system.
