This is a full-time 40 hour a week position.

THE POSITION:

Join the MSPCA at Nevins Farm Team! We are looking for a Shelter Operations Coordinator to provide oversight for all things administrative! The  Shelter Operations Coordinator helps to ensure the operating efficiency of our adoption center and community clinic, including programs to increase adoptions and decrease length of stay and assists with shelter-related correspondence as needed.

Some job responsibilities include:

All shelter bookkeeping including weekly cash management and reports, processing bills, contribution receipts, maintaining petty cash.
Pay all shelter and community clinic related bills and maintain filing system.
Order and maintain all supplies, including, animal equipment, animal food, medications, staffing equipment and office equipment. 
Order and maintain all retail related inventory.  Research, identify, order and price all new retail items.
Learn and train staff on shelter related computer program, including Chameleon, Signature and Clover.
Manages volunteers to help assist with various operations tasks
Help develop systems/reports to improve workflow in the adoption center, including, but not limited to tracking animals in the shelter and improving standards of care and adoption efficiency.
Collaborate with the maintenance team on property projects that ensure the safety and well being of staff, animals, and visitors to Nevins Farm.

ABOUT NEVINS FARM:

The MSPCA at Nevins Farm, in Methuen, Massachusetts, is a unique 55-acre animal care complex that provides shelter and adoption services for both farm and companion animals as well as a low cost community clinic and community outreach. In 2024, the MSPCA at Nevins Farm took in a total of 3,035 animals and had a live release rate of 92%. Take a virtual tour!

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

We are looking for applicants with at least one year of experience in bookkeeping/accounting and one year of office management or retail management experience. Applicants must also have excellent interpersonal skills and be highly organized with great attention to detail.

As this position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, we require applicants to include a cover letter showcasing your writing skills.
