Job Title: Full-Time Veterinarian
Location: San Antonio Pets Alive (SAPA)
About Us:
San Antonio Pets Alive (SAPA) is dedicated to saving the lives of homeless animals and providing them with a second chance to find loving families. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled veterinarian to join our team and support our lifesaving mission.
Position Overview:
SAPA is seeking a full-time veterinarian proficient in both internal medicine and surgical procedures. The ideal candidate is eager to make a difference in the lives of shelter animals, ensuring they receive the highest quality medical care. This position requires working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, performing both routine and advanced surgical procedures, and overseeing medical treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform high-volume, high-quality medical care for shelter animals.
• Conduct surgical procedures, including but not limited to spay/neuter, mass removals, eye enucleations, and limb amputations.
• Develop and oversee treatment plans for a variety of medical conditions.
• Ensure the overall health and well-being of all SAPA animals.
• Collaborate with the Clinic Manager to execute medical care protocols.
• Provide humane and compassionate treatment to all animals in SAPA’s care.
• Work closely with the management team to improve medical operations and ensure best practices.
Qualifications:
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent.
• Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Texas or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience in high-volume shelter medicine preferred.
• Proficiency in soft tissue surgery and emergency medical care.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Passion for animal welfare and commitment to SAPA’s mission.

Salary position 32-40 hours per week. 150,000. to 165,000.00 annually.
