Join Our Team as a Shelter Veterinarian in Evans, CO!NOCO Humane is an independent nonprofit working to further the compassionate, safe, and responsible relationship between animals and people.
Are you passionate about animal welfare and shelter medicine? We're looking for a dedicated Shelter Veterinarian to join our team and make a difference in the lives of shelter animals (cats, dogs, rabbits, turtles, chickens, and more!) and the community. This is a full-time, exempt, salary position.
Expected hiring range is $115K to $120K commensurate with experience. Relocation assistance available. We are a Federal Student Loan Forgiveness approved employer. Closes June 4th, 2025, or when filled
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform high-quality spay/neuter and dental surgeries, as well as other necessary surgeries for shelter animals.
• Provide routine medical care, exams, and monitoring for shelter animals, ensuring the highest standards of care.
• Supervise and mentor clinic staff and volunteers as needed.
• Make critical decisions regarding treatment, euthanasia, and animal health management.
• Collaborate with Shelter Management and other veterinarians to ensure the health and safety of all animals.
• Assist with developing and implementing veterinary protocols and training programs.
• Be a trusted advisor for clients on health concerns related to adopted animals.
Qualifications:
• Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Colorado (or obtain soon after hiring).
• Proven experience in high-quality, high-volume sterilization and shelter medicine preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Supervisory experience and bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
• Passion for animal welfare and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
