What you will get to do:
• Serve as a mentor to your team members by demonstrating positive work habits, effective clinical skills, and animal health knowledge.
• Coach team members to be continuously aware and proactive at anticipating and addressing all the animals' needs and to seek assistance with escalated, stressful situations.
• Manage, supervise, and coordinate the functions of the Veterinary Shelter Technicians, including but not limited to planning, scheduling, and organizing work for their team, ensuring proper distribution of assignments, efficient utilization of personnel, space, and facilities
• Works with SPCA Florida leadership to organize the Veterinary Shelter Technician’s meetings and training.
• Provide input and participate in performance evaluations and coaching opportunities with the Director of Shelter Operations.
• Organize training schedules for the Veterinary Shelter Technicians, individually and as a group.
• Oversees, develops, and monitors staff work schedules; manages PTO requests
• Ensure all documentation, with the animals and the staff, is accurate and complete

• Preferred but not required: CVT Graduate from an AVMA-accredited program and/or equivalent experience as a veterinary assistant/technician.
• 2-5 years’ experience working as a veterinary technician in animal welfare.
• Supervisory experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience that is determined to be directly related to the specific requirements may be substituted
