Job Description
The Lynchburg Humane Society, located in beautiful and diverse Central Virginia, provides public quality/high volume spay/neuter, wellness services, and medical services to help pets stay in their existing homes. We also care for over 3,500 pets each year in our Center for Pets, where we provide medical services to prepare pets for adoption.We are seeking veterinarians to join our team and expand our services to help more pets. You will have the distinction of being part of the industry-leading Lynchburg Humane Society and will have the opportunity to be a part of designing and implementing a brand-new medical facility that moves Lynchburg forward in shelter medicine, spay/neuter, and community engagement.
You would join an experienced veterinary team comprised of 3 veterinarians and a skilled medical team, working 1-5 days per week, performing high-quality spay/neuter surgeries and wellness and dental services.
You will be trained and supported by our experienced, award-winning team and have a willingness to do what it takes to fulfill our mission of dedication to helping Lynchburg’s pets through sheltering, adoption, spay/neuter programs, education, and community outreach.
You will be an integral part of our vision of helping to create a community where all lives are valued and respected and must be able to operate within our core values.
Ability to perform, on average, 40 spay/neuter surgeries per day. (If that is not a present skill, must have the ability and drive to work toward and succeed in that goal.)

Requirements
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
Valid veterinary license to practice in the state.
Strong knowledge of animal physiology and handling techniques.
Experience in laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is preferred.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $120,762.00 - $130,417.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
