Kristen Hassen (formerly Auerbach-Hassen) is the Maddie’s American Pets Alive! director and former director of animal services at Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, Arizona. Previously, she served as the deputy director at Austin Animal Center in Texas and before that she was the assistant director of Fairfax County Animal Shelter in Virginia. Kristen’s projects include building the nation’s largest shelter pet foster program; teaching emerging shelter leaders; and engaging communities in lifesaving efforts.
