Linda Rhodes, VMD, PhD

Veterinary Consultant, Board of Directors, Alliance for Contraception in Cats & Dogs
Dr. Rhodes has worked in the animal health industry for over thirty years. Her main focus has been developing new medicines for animals of all species. She obtained her veterinary degree from University of Pennsylvania, and her PhD in reproductive endocrinology from Cornell. In 2001 she founded AlcheraBio, a contract research firm dedicated to helping to bring new animal drugs to market. The company was acquired in 2008. In 2011, she was the founding CEO of Aratana Therapeutics, where she grew the company, and led the FDA development of three drugs for dogs—Galliprant, Entyce and Nocita. When the company became public, she assumed the role of chief scientific officer. Dr. Rhodes has been on the Board of the Alliance for Contraception in Cats and Dogs since 2008. As a member of the scientific advisory board of the Michelson Prize and Grants, Dr. Rhodes has worked to facilitate the discovery of a single injection treatment for the permanent sterilization of male and female dogs and cats. She currently is an independent consultant working with early stage companies with innovative solutions for animal health unmet needs. In 2017, she was appointed to serve on the Board of Directors of Zoetis.
