Rachel Thompson is the senior programs manager of operations and strategy for Pets for Life, the HSUS program to increase equity and access to pet resources for people living in underserved communities. Thompson works with organizations throughout the country to implement and sustain community-based owner support programming, with the goal of making access to care a core principle—and standard practice—of companion animal welfare. Thompson lives in Atlanta and serves on the board of Paws Between Homes, a nonprofit that provides foster homes for the pets of Atlanta residents facing housing insecurity. She enjoys live music, working in the garden and spending time with her husband, Aaron, and pets Boss, Bae, Iko and simply the best cat Tina Turner Thompson.
