Stephanie Jackson

Louisville Metro Animal Services
Before Stephanie Jackson started her career at Louisville Metro Animal Services, she was involved with a non-profit, Tyson’s Chance Animal Foundation, where she served on the board of directors, developing strategies to place hard to adopt large breed dogs. She came to Louisville Metro Animal Services in 2016 and in a short period of time grew their foster and enrichment programs to new levels. By implementing life-saving programs like field trip fostering, her shelter has reached never before seen live release rates and even achieved no kill status three years in row. Stephanie's program was featured at Best Friends National Conference LA in 2018 and “Best Hour of Your Life” was presented to the field trip program by Louisville Magazine. Stephanie has been recognized by Associated Press for her work with Mutual Rescue’s Doggy Day Out Rescue Toolkit. She has been across the country to learn about best practices thanks to Maddie’s Fund. Stephanie’s passion for saving animals can be seen in her daily work from helping misunderstood dogs in the shelter to implementing ringworm and hospice fostering at her shelter. Stephanie has 4 dogs and a cat.
