Veronica Accornero

Veronica earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Louisiana State University. She completed an internship in clinical child and pediatric psychology at the University of Miami’s Mailman Center for Child Development and a research fellowship in the epidemiology of drug dependence through Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health. After serving on faculty at the University of Miami Miller School Medicine for more than 15 years, Veronica sought opportunities to apply her experience and skillset in the animal welfare field and joined the ASPCA in 2018. She is currently a Senior Manager of Research at the ASPCA where she conducts research and program evaluation in the areas of high-quality, high-volume spay-neuter services and training, pet quality of life, and increasing access to basic veterinary care. She is experienced in evaluating interventions and programs, conducting longitudinal research, developing measurement tools, and providing evidence-based interventions to children and families. A lifelong animal lover, Veronica currently lives in the Raleigh, NC area with her family, two cats and two dogs.
