Job Description
Under supervision of the Animal Protection Lead, Animal Services Supervisor, and Animal Services Manager, the Animal Protection Officer enforces animal protection laws and ordinances for the City through investigation and the patrolling of the City of League City. Acts as a representative of the City in the field and in shelter. Operates the Pet Resource Center to provide options for individuals needing rehoming assistance, pet pantry & pet retention supplies, lost/found pet services, and more. Performs work in the League City Animal Care Center to include care and maintenance of animals and grounds while humanely following City policy, City ordinances and State of Texas laws. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service skills and provide a high level of pleasant, professional service to all visitors, staff, and volunteers. The ideal candidate should be prepared to work independently, follow all health and safety guidelines, and enthusiastically contribute to the professional culture and mission of the League City Animal Care team. This is a safety sensitive and/or DOT position. As such, you will be required to participate in random drug testing at the city.This is a full time job
